Capital One SavorOne Cards Rebrands to just "Savor"
Capital One is making a change to its credit cards. The "SavorOne" cards are now just called "Savor." These changes start on October 22, 2024. Even though the name and look of the cards are different, the rewards and benefits will stay the same.
What Stays the Same?
The new Savor cards will still give you money back when you
spend. You get:
- 3%
cash back at restaurants, grocery stores, on entertainment, and for
streaming services.
- 5%
cash back on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel.
- 1%
cash back on everything else you buy.
The cards will still have no yearly fee. If you already have
one of these cards, you don’t need to do anything. You can keep using your card
like normal, and when you need a new one, it will have the new name and design.
Special Offer for New Cardholders
There is a new deal for people who sign up for the updated
Savor card. If you spend $500 in the first three months, you get a $250 cash
bonus.
What About the Old Savor Card?
Before this change, there was already a Savor card with a
$95 fee every year. It gave 4% cash back on dining and entertainment. That card
is not open to new people anymore, but if you already have it, you get to keep
it. The design of that card will change in 2025 when your old card expires, but
your rewards and fee stay the same.
A Little History
The Savor cards have changed a lot over the years. It
started as a card for people who liked dining out in 2017, called the Premier
Dining Rewards card. Then, in 2018, the Savor card was split into two: the
SavorOne with no fee and the Savor with a fee. Now, they are changing the names
again, going back to just "Savor" for the no-ANNUAL fee card.
This change might make things confusing because there are
now two Savor cards: the new no-fee one and the older one with the $95 fee.
Capital One wants to make it clear which is which by calling the older one
"legacy" or "not available" for new people.
Bottom Line
Capital One is giving the SavorOne cards a new name and design but keeping everything else the same. There’s also a special offer for new cardholders, and the old Savor card with the fee is still around, just not open for sign-ups.
